History of International Yoga Day

The history of International Yoga Day dates to the time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, proposed the idea of International Yoga Day at the UN General Assembly. In his address, during the opening of the 69th session of the General Assembly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said "Yoga is an invaluable gift from our ancient tradition. Yoga embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action a holistic approach (that) is valuable to our health and our well-being, Yoga is not just about exercise, it is a way to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature

June 21st has the summer solstice – longest day in the northern hemisphere and the relationship between sun and planet have tremendous changes in every life including plantes animals and all the things. It also has significance in yogic system especially ion the chakras it helps to uplift your energy.

In celebration of International Yoga Day, starting at the beginning of June, we host a variety of yoga sessions including clapping yoga, laughing yoga, chair yoga, Healing therapy, dance therapy workshop for sun salutation, full body stretches with supporter (cushions, blocks, straps, bolster, pillars), nada yoga, yoga games and challenges and Specialized Yoga Nidra. These sessions are open to our guests and team members and are aimed at promoting the true meaning of yoga - "Union". Our main focus in conducting these sessions is to ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all participants.

On June 21st, 2025, International Yoga Day, we are planning to conduct morning sessions following the Yoga Day protocol. We will also have a special mass Sun Salutation with a minimum of 50 participants to make their entire day shine and feel strong like the sun.
