World Ayurveda day is observed annually on the occasion of Dhanwanthari Jayanti, commemorating the birth of Lord Dhanwanthari – physician and propounder of traditional Ayurvedic practices. The 13th day of the dark fortnight of the month of Ashwin (in Malayalam Thulam) that usually falls on mid-October to November, is celebrated as Dhanwanthari Jayanti.

This day aims to promote the principles and practices of Ayurveda. It focuses to create awareness and enlighten the ways to maintain physical, mental and spiritual well-being through Ayurveda treatments. The first World Ayurveda day was celebrated in the year 2016 by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. From then, every year this day is being celebrated so as to embrace the Ayurvedic wisdom for a healthier, holistic and sustainable life.

This year on 29th October, we are celebrating the 9th World Ayurveda Day with the theme “Ayurveda Innovations for Global Health”. This has been chosen to highlight the huge research work done in Ayurveda and to establish the scientific relevance of Ayurveda in promoting health and treatment of various health conditions. The Nattika Beach Ayurveda Resort is also joining the global celebration of World Ayurveda day supporting the theme by showcasing Ayurveda’s benefits and its potential in global wellness.
